Commercial Pilot License Single Engine (H)
A Commercial Pilot License (Helicopter) (CPL-H) is a qualification that permits the holder to act as the pilot of a Helicopter and get paid for his/her work.

With Theoretical Knowledge
TRAINING PROGRAM
The course is scheduled over 20 working weeks divided between theoretical knowledge instructions and flight training as following:
Phase 1: Weeks 1 to 12 Theoretical Knowledge Instruction -250hrs followed by internal and GCAA Exams.
Phase 2: Weeks 13 to 20 Flight Instruction -31.5hrs on Single Engine R-44).
Student without a night rating helicopter will be given additionally 5 hours’ night flight instruction comprising 3 hours of dual instruction including at least 1 hour of cross-country navigation and 5 solo night circuits.
Each circuit shall include a take-off and a landing.
REQUIREMENTS FOR COURSE ENROLLMENT
1. Valid GCAA Private Pilot License (H).
2. Valid GCAA Class I Medical Certificate.
3. Total flying of 155 hours on helicopters
4. 50 hours Pilot-In-Command (PIC) on helicopters
5. 10 hours of Cross Country flight time as PIC including a cross-country flight of not less than 100 N.M. during which a full stop landing at two different airports must be made.
6. Night rating Helicopter (Student without a night rating helicopter will be given additionally 5 hours’ night flight instruction)
REQUIREMENTS FOR LICENSE ISSUANCE
1. Applicant should be 18 years old.
2. Pass all GCAA theoretical knowledge tests
3. Shall have completed at least 185 hours flight time
4. 50 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
5. 10 hours of cross country flight time as PIC including a cross-country flight of not less than 100 N.M.
6. Successful completion of a Skill Test

The duration of the course is approximately 20 weeks

A. 31.5hr on Single Engine helicopter (R-44) (Student with night rating helicopter).
B. 36.5hr on Single Engine helicopter (R-44) (Student without night rating helicopter).
4. Uniform – 2 sets.
5. GCAA exam fees (one attempt for each subject).
PAYMENT SCHEDULE
1. First installment of AED 30,000 is to be paid prior to course start date.
2. Second installment of AED 30,000 is to be paid prior to flight training
3. Third installment of AED 30,000 is to be paid after on completion of 15 hours of flight training.
Student with night rating helicopter
A. First installment of AED 30,000 is to be paid prior to course start date.
B. Second installment of AED 30,000 is to be paid before the flight starts.
C. Third installment of AED 30,000 is to be paid after completion of 15 hours of flight training.
Student without night rating helicopter
A. First installment of AED 30,000 is to be paid prior to course start date.
B. Second installment of AED 30,000 is to be paid before the flight starts.
C. Third installment of AED 39,000 is to be paid after completion of 15 hours of flight training.

1. The costs stated above are minimum rates and it may vary depending upon each individual’s capability of learning. The duration of the course also depends upon the attendance of the student, weather conditions and the various maintenance requirements for the aircraft.
