Frequently Asked Questions
How to register as a new applicant?
Registration Process
- Reception/administration ask the applicant if he/she is already registered in the website.
- If yes, ask the applicant if he/she already has paid online.
- When not yet paid, ask the applicant if he/she wants to pay online of pay cash. If online, let the applicant open the FujAA website and pay online. If pay to cash, reception/administration accepts the payment at the FujAA website by clicking “Pay to cash button”.
- When paid already, check the software if the applicant information can be found. If it doesn’t exist, sync the data directly to the FujAA software by clicking “Updater” at the bookmark bar of the browser.
- If no, ask the applicant if he/she is regular or sponsor and what course will he/she take. Then access the FujAA portal.
- For engineering courses, register the applicant in the “AMEC Registration Regular” menu if regular or “AMEC Registration Sponsor” menu if sponsor.
- For flight courses, register the applicant in the “Flight Registration Regular” menu if regular or “Flight Registration Sponsor” menu if sponsor.

Reception/administration will upload all the documents to the applicant details in the FujAA software. By clicking the “Edit/Delete” button under Documents/Medical column. And for the payment click “Enrollment Payment” button under Application Form column.
- If not complete, let the applicant comply first with all the requirements needed.
- If complete, let him/her sign the Initial Application Form (IAF) and request for Head of Training Approval.
- Head of Training (HOT) assess the Initial Application Form (IAF) and signs Part 5 of IAF. If the applicant met all the requirements, HOT will just check the first checkbox. (Note: The course id should be found in the course schedule menu.) The applicant finally becomes a student now.

What does Fujairah Aviation Academy do?
Part of the FUJAIRAH NATIONAL GROUP, Fujairah Aviation Academy, formerly known as Fujairah Aviation Centre was founded in 1986 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saleh Mohammed Hamad Al Sharqi. Since its establishment in 1986, we have grown to become one of the largest and the most respected aviation training organizations in the Middle East.
Aviation cannot only depend on pilots and therefore in the pursuit of excellence, FujAA did not restrict itself to only flying training but is aiming to become a complete aviation training hub to address all the requirements of today's aviation industry.
What is the difference between a Class 1 and a Class 2 medical?
A Class 1 medical certificate is required for all pilots involved in commercial aviation. This certificate has the most restrictive medical standards. The holder of a medical certificate must be mentally and physically fit to exercise safely the privileges of the applicable license. A Class 1 medical needs to be renewed every year, dependant on the pilot’s age.
A Class 2 medical certificate is required only for General Aviation pilots – those that fly on a private pilot license. As the holder is not involved in commercial activities, the certificate is not so restrictive; still, the holder of the medical certificate must be mentally and physically fit to exercise safely the privileges of the applicable license. A Class 2 medical generally needs to be renewed every 5 years, dependant on the pilot’s age.
Do I need a medical certificate?
All students enrolled in the aviation programs require a valid medical certificate. The link to apply for one can be found on our resources page.
Aircraft maintenance engineers do not require a medical certificate; therefore students enrolled in these programs do not need one.
What is an ELP?
ELP stands for English Language Proficiency. There are 6 levels; levels 1 – 3 indicate an unsuccessful attempt, and 4 – 6 a pass. The ELP needs to be renewed periodically depending on the level achieved:
Level 4 – every 3 years
Level 5 – every 6 years
Level 6 – lifetime validity
Do I need an ELP?
It is an ICAO and GCAA requirement for all pilots to have a valid ELP. We are GCAA approved to conduct the ELP exam. You can apply for it here.
Aircraft maintenance engineers do not require an ELP.

All our courses are GCAA approved.
Are the courses EASA approved?
All our aircraft maintenance engineering courses are EASA approved. Our aviation courses are EASA compliant; these follow the syllabus but are not accredited by EASA.
Are my exams valid in EASA regulated countries?
Exams undertaken in the aviation programs are not automatically transferable. Each country has their own rules for converting licenses. Please check the civil aviation regulations of the country in question.
Under the aircraft maintenance engineering department program we run both, GCAA as well as EASA exams, and these are valid in other EASA regulated countries.
